Production Technician

Position Summary: 

Production management of medical components manufacturing in Heraeus Medical Component business unit. Ensure that products produced are according to standard operating procedure (SOPs) while achieving business targeted key performance indicators (KPIs). 

 

Job Description:

1. Perform and execute day-to-day operation of assigned machine(s): setup, shut down, load & unload material, perform trouble shooting and minor adjustment onto machine to achieve defined specification (process and product). Escalate and highlight line issues promptly to the engineers/ Production Supervisor/ Manager.

2. Perform inspection on products: In-process, or end-of-line according to routing, control plan inspection sheet and relevant WI.

3. Documents production records: In-process data, end of line product data for process parameters' setting, tool used record, inspection record, maintenance etc record on hard copy.

4. Repair and troubleshooting equipment related issues and minimize downtime. Participate in troubleshooting hardware, software and process related improvement projects.

5. Perform failure analysis together with Engineers to improve the process, reduce failure rate and maintain quality. Support preventive maintenance activities.

6. Involving in cost saving projects, work with relevant parties to work as a team to drive cost reduction. Help to collect data in continuous improvement or cost down projects.

7. Observe and perform good housekeeping rules at related working area (direct or indirect relevant).

8. Support scale up activities and perform engineering evaluation.

 

Working Environment:

  • Cleanroom factory environment. Do expect some hours of standing.
  • Coating process is in chemical production environment. Some level of chemical smell and fumes may be involved.
  • Personal Protective Equipment is required on some processes.

 

Job Requirements:

Knowledge

  • Background in Mechanical-Electrical systems
  • Experience in manufacturing working environment preferred, medical device industry would be added advantage
  • Experience in the relevant production equipment and processes.
  • Hands-on expertise with setting up, running and maintaining equipment
  • Willing and able to work well with others with effective in communication
  • Ability to effectively interact with cross-functional team within the organization
  • Trained as a trainer to perform the certification process to other operators
  • Min 2 year working experience, preferably in manufacturing industry

Soft Competencies

  • Team player; self-motivated; accountable and independent
  • Able to meeting timeline and can work well under pressure
  • Flexible and open-minded working style

 

Education:

Minimum NITEC education with at least 2 years relevant working experience

Senior Quality Engineer

1. General Summary:

This position will be the lead MCD Quality presence at the site.  As the Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the desired customer experience through: supporting the process development of product that is manufactured and ensuring conformance to customer specifications and requirements, developing robust statistically based inspection methods, primary support for investigating, evaluating, and disposition of nonconforming product. You will ensure the Quality systems are effectively utilized and compliance to the proper regulations is enforced.

The applicant should be able to execute position responsibilities with minimal supervision and direction with initiative and urgency, being visibly in the Quality Engineering leadership role. The applicant will be the owner of CAPAs and ensures timely, accurate, effective execution. The applicant should be very fluent, effective, and comfortable with participating and leading customer interaction in diverse activities and being viewed as the Quality expert.

 

Job Description:

1. Work with internal/external customers providing inspection, testing, process capability support, Qualifications/ Validations, GRR, Minitab analysis, FAI analysis, and inspection plans in a timely manner.

2. Review and update work instructions associated with inspection techniques and inspection equipment. Work with Engineering to meet metrology needs.

3. Leads the nonconforming material and product processes which includes but is not limited to Disposition, Investigation,

CAPA/Corrections and customer communication.

4. Utilize statistical tools to monitor and assess product performance, identify root causes and for continuous improvement of processes.

5. Support the quality methodologies for process changes. Support communication and process changes with the customer.

6. Provides training to others based on expertise, resume or demonstrated work experience. Uses training tracking system and ensures training requirements are up to date on a regular basis.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge

  • Inspection Method and Equipment knowledge. Statistical tools application. Knowledge of ISO 9001, with ISO 13485 and 14971 highly preferred.
  • Communication, problem identification and solving, project management, analysis, logic thinking, presentation
  • Works with a positive attitude and acts within the principles of the MCD Core Values. Adheres to the Heraeus Code of Conduct Policy as relates to position.
  • Demonstrates safe work habits, maintain clean and safe work area. Hands-on, teamwork, leadership, professionalism, patient to details
  • Experience preferably in an ISO 13485:2003 and/or 9001:2000 work environment. Medical device experience a plus.
  • ASQ certified Quality engineer preferred. Ability to utilize MRP or ERP software and Statistical Analysis Software.
  • Root cause analysis training, Project Management, Statistical analysis, SPC, Six Sigma Tools and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing experience.

 

Education:

BA/BS in an Engineering discipline with 5-7 years of Experience, or BA/BS in a scientific discipline with 7-10 yrs in an engineering or technical role.
